ealing broadway fixie



i spotted the following beauty in ealing this saturday... it's pretty small, but pretty none-the-less.

then i saw the wheels, crazy spoke work! reckon i'd be a bit scared to ride them, but they looked great.

Yeah the twisted spoke pattern is supposed to be hell on the spokes where they mee the rim. If you believe master wheelbuilder Gerd Schraner, most people who lace a wheel that way only do it once, since the spokes are more prone to break than on, say, a 3x pattern.

Still, they are a bit unique looking, and, increasingly, unique can be a good thing.

i have to agree, on the unique bit that is... my building knowledge is minimal...
